Spaniard Don Andres Brugal Montaner and his family settled in the Dominican province of Puerto Plata in 1888, where he came from Cuba, where he studied the technology of rum production. For more than a hundred years of its existence, the family-owned company Brugal has essentially created the style of Dominican rum, releasing more than one iconic model. Combining the continuity of production traditions and careful manual selection of barrels, the Brugal family has ensured that the Roma from their collection have repeatedly won high awards at international competitions and are well-respected by experts and connoisseurs of this drink.

Rum Brugal 1888 Gran Reserva is created from molasses by double distillation and undergoes combined aging in bourbon barrels and barrels previously used for aging sherry. The blend uses alcohols of different ages from 5 to 14 years. Today, the author’s signature on this creation can be put on by Materono-Ronero (blenders) of the Brugal company, representatives of the fifth generation of the names Jazil Quintana and Gustavo Zeller.
