Ron Barceló History
Ron Barceló was born in 1929 with the vision of a decanter Julian Barceló, young Spanish entrepreneur, founded Barceló & Co. in the city of Santo Domingo in 1930. The brand quickly became a reference between local rums and one of the largest and most prestigious Dominican enterprises.
The Ron Barceló Añejo is added to the product line in 1970 with its unique patented amber bottle called "Pitufita".
For the decade of the 80's Ron Barceló topped the list of favorite national rums and Don Miguel Barceló produced for the first time in 1980, Ron Barceló Imperial, obtaining, two decades later, the distinction of the Best Rum in the World by the prestigious Beverage Testing Institute of Chicago, with the highest score in the history of the Institute.
The company also realized that his destiny was to jump borders of the Caribbean and America and in 1992 undertook the internationalization with very good results. Ron Barceló started exporting its products to Spain in 1994, being now among the market leaders Spanish rums.

So, in 2000 comes a strategic alliance between a group of Spanish businessmen with long tradition in wine and spirits and Barceló & Co., to bring Ron Barceló quality to the world, with companies that share your sense of excellence and represent the brand on an exclusive basis.
The partnership resulted in the combination of three quarters of a century of experience in the production of rum, high technology, distribution, marketing and international avant-garde vision. Today is present in over 50 countries, showing a steady increase in sales and a clear vision to continue bringing tradition and quality around the world.
