    Cragganmore whisky

The Cragganmore Distillery was founded in 1840 near the River Spey. The favorable location initially doomed the plant to success: its own stream nearby supplied the production with water, and the railway junction transported the drinks produced, in addition, the plant used only the latest equipment and technology. After 29 years, the plant was headed by John Smith, considered the most talented and experienced distiller of the time. John ran such famous distilleries as McAllan, Glenlivet and Glenfarklas. Smith invented distillation cubes in the shape of the letter T, which gave the aristocratic character of the whiskey produced.

After John's death, the plant passed into the hands of his son - Gordon, who carried out a large-scale reconstruction and modernization of the plant, but retained his father's unique equipment. Nowadays, Cragganmore produces more than one and a half million liters of whiskey annually, the bulk of which is used to create famous blends, such as White Horse and others. And only since the beginning of the 90s, the distillery released the Cragganmore malt.
