Ardbeg Corryvreckan - one of Islay's legendary malts, complex, deep, he is the embodiment of the "wild spirit" of the Scottish island. The drink got its name in honor of the famous whirlpool, located north of the island, which only the bravest will challenge. The seething aroma and streams of deep, peat and pepper taste are hidden behind the apparent smoothness of this balanced malt. Like this insidious whirlpool, Corryvreckan whiskey is not for wimps!

Ardbeg distillery uses one of the most phenolic, i.e. “Smoky” malts in the world (barley is fumigated to the level of 50 ppm). Since 1981, barley has not been dried in a distillery, but brought from the village of Port Ellen, and ground in a company mill, established in 1921. Pure spring water entering the plant from Lake Oogadal (Loch Uigeadail) 5 km from the distillery is combined with ground malt for maximum sugar recovery. Next, the selected yeast is added to the selected yeast and fermented. Low alcohol solution is subjected to double distillation to achieve the desired strength and purity of alcohols. Corryvreckan whiskey matures in two types of barrels - these are new French barrels and American bourbon barrels. Due to the location of the cellars close to the sea, in which spirits are aged, whiskey additionally acquires a certain salty and iodine character.

Taste: deep, complex, dense, peppery, with a first sip you can taste the sharp steak soaked in a spicy sauce with typical seaweed, then black espresso with rich dark fruits (blackcurrant, blueberries and cherries), bitter almonds and anise. The finish is long, very stable, with elements of coffee, cherry, chocolate and hot pepper sauce.
