Alcohol has risen in price since December 3, 2016
From today, December 3, in Ukraine new minimum prices for alcoholic beverages begin to operate. The relevant government decree came into force.
Most of all, imported drinks - whiskey, rum and gin - will cost up to 750 hryvnias per liter, and a half-liter bottle of vodka will have to pay at least 70 hryvnias.
"The size of the minimum wholesale and retail prices, depending on the product code, has been increased: for vodka and alcoholic beverages by 27.1-27.86%; whiskey, rum and gin - by 37-63%; cognac (brandy) - by 24-27%; wine - by 22.2-55.6%, "the resolution says.
The explanatory note to the document indicated that the increase in alcohol prices is associated with an increase in the average price of alcohol - up to 285 hryvnias per deciliter, including VAT. Other components have also grown.
