Osborne

The Osborne wine company, whose logo is considered to be a symbol of Spain, was founded in 1722 by the English merchant Thomas Osborne in the famous region of Jerez. The affairs of the talented entrepreneur quickly went uphill, and after only a year, the number of wine cellars that Osborne had at his disposal amounted to two dozen. Thomas's ancestors successfully managed the family business, but Ignacio Osbourne, who led the company from 1935 to 1972, can be considered the most talented businessman. It was then that the winery broke into the leaders in the production of sherry and brandy of sherry, having won world fame and left behind even the most quick competitors. Of particular note is the famous black bull - the Osborne logo. His image appeared in the 56th year with the light hand of the famous artist Manolo Prieto, who came up with this image specifically for the advertising campaign of a popular brand. A year later, Spanish highways on both sides were decorated with wooden figures of bulls with the inscription Osborne. At one time, the authorities even intended to remove the figures, since, in their opinion, they distracted drivers from the road, but after some time the bulls were recognized as national pride and an integral element of the Spanish landscape. Nowadays, figures have been replaced with larger ones and now their height reaches fourteen meters.
