Monkey Shoulder

Monkey Shoulder is a rare member of the blended malt blended whiskey category. This category includes blends whose blend consists of several single malt spirits. In the case of Monkey Shoulder, all the malts in the composition are made from malt from the distilleries of Glenfiddick, Balveny and Kininwey. Particularly noteworthy is the fact that Monkey Shoulder components belong exclusively to one region - Speyside. The whiskey is produced in a limited edition of twenty-seven barrels of American bourbon. The blend got its name in honor of the distillery laborers William Grant, who, turning the malt with heavy wooden shovels, received a shoulder joint injury, popularly called "monkey shoulder" or "monkey shoulder".
