Vana Tallinn
Vana Tallinn
Liqueur “Vana Tallinn” (“Vana Tallinn”) - a visiting card of Estonia - is made according to an old recipe, the first mention of which dates back to the twelfth century. According to one version, the famous recipe we owe to the alchemist, who devoted his life to the search for the elixir of eternal youth. According to legend, in his secret laboratory, the alchemist came up with a formula that was very close to completion, but at the moment when the scientist added the last ingredient, a terrible explosion occurred. The only thing that survived after the explosion was the recipe for the drink, which later formed the basis of the Estonian liqueur. Today, the main component of Vana Tallinn is Jamaican rum, to which cinnamon, citrus fruits, coriander, wild berries and herbs are added, as well as many other ingredients, the composition and proportions of which are in the strictest confidence.
