Meat and Wine - Kyiv Food and Wine Festival 2016
From October 1-2, the seventh Kyiv Food and Wine Festival will be held in Kiev, and its theme this time will be meat and wine. In addition to the theme, the festival will receive a new location, having moved to the capital VDNG.
The program of the seventh festival promises to be the richest for all seven festivals, having embraced the first Ukrainian wine race, a wine museum, a large vat for crushing grapes, “Wine Week”, unique decorations, wine from new Ukrainian and leading European wineries and a wine lecture hall.
On a large meat market, guests will be treated to Ukrainian jamon and dried sausage, halal meat, selected steaks, game and many other meat products. This time the wine market promises to be even richer with new participants from Ukraine and neighboring countries, and the number of wines presented will be more than 100. The main wines of the festival will be rich red and festive sparkling wines.
In the lecture hall of the festival, which will work for two days from 13: 00-19: 00, authoritative sommeliers and wine experts will share their knowledge. Visiting lectures and tastings of the wine lecture is free for all guests.
Autumn is the time of harvesting, and traditionally guests will have the opportunity to crush the grapes with their feet in a large tub, which will be brought from Transcarpathia to the Cotnar winery. Grapes will be enough, so that the pleasure of the crush can be obtained within two days of the festival. There will be a wine museum at the festival, where you can touch on the history of winemaking and ancient wine technologies.
The main special event within the framework of the festival will be the first Ukrainian Wine Run Kyiv Wine Run, which will be held on October 2 across the territory of VDNG. On 5 kilometers of the route there will be five wine points in the form of a chateau, which will treat the willing runners with wine and water tasting sets. The winner will receive an amount of wine, equivalent to his weight, as well as a trip to the Ukrainian winery. The second and third place will be awarded substantial wine gifts from the festival partners. Another special award awaits the runner for the most original costume. Each runner will receive memorable gifts from Kyiv Food and Wine Festival.
At the entrance, each guest receives a glass as a gift. The entrance fee to the seventh Kyiv Food and Wine Festival will be 60 UAH.
