Officially, the Highland Park distillery was founded in 1798. A few years later it bought the police, who tried repeatedly to delay Muncie for illegal alcohol production. With this began a large-scale expansion of the distillery. A powerful impetus to the development was the acquisition of the production company "Stewart McKay" made by Highland Park whiskey production standard of quality.
