Grand Marnier

The world-famous family company Grand Marnier entered the international arena in 1880 thanks to its famous liquor of the same name, the recipe of which belongs to Louis Alexandre Marnier. He created a liquor based on cognac and bitter tropical oranges, which was originally called Curacao Marnier. From the very beginning, Citrus bigaradia Duch fruit from the company’s plantation in Haiti was used to make liquor. Due to the high content of essential oils in the peels of unripe oranges, they are picked green and exclusively by hand. Only crusts are used in the production, which are dried in the sun for several weeks. Then the dried crusts are infused with alcohol and are subjected to a distillation process.
