Ireland is the leading country for the production of cream liqueurs. One of her latest discoveries in the world of liqueurs was a cream-based drink - cream liqueur. This wonderful alcoholic drink appeared in the late 70s, as a result of combining seemingly incompatible ingredients - cream and alcohol.
In the 60-70s of the last century, the producers of whiskey in Ireland faced the problem of an oversupply of this drink. In order not to drain excess alcohol into the sea, they decided to try to invent a new liquor - based on whiskey. Thus, in 1974, the first cream liqueur called “Bailey's” appeared, and “Carolans” appeared only 4 years later - after the new manufacturing technology made it possible to use cream, not just milk, in the production of cream liqueurs, and became his hallmark.
So, in 1978 in Ireland, in the county of Tipperary, in the town of Clonmell, the delicious creamy Carolans liqueur was first made and quickly became popular in many countries of the world. The drink was named in honor of the famous Irish musician and composer of the XVII century - Thorl O’ Carolan. Today, exactly like many years ago, the composition of this liqueur includes the best ingredients: aged Tullamore Dew whiskey, thick natural cream, heather honey and chocolate.
