Camus (Camus) producer of French cognac
In 1863, the winemaker Jean-Baptiste Camus created an association of winemakers for the production and sale of high-quality cognac under the brand name La Grande Marque. He later bought shares from his partners and renamed the company Camus - la Grande Marque.
His son Gaston brought Camus to the export market. In the 1960s, a third-generation Camus representative, Michelle, started a profitable business in the nascent duty-free market by introducing exclusive gift vials of Limoges porcelain and baccarat crystal. Jean-Paul Camus, representative of the fourth generation of the family, began an extensive program to ensure the production of raw materials by expanding vineyards, building distilleries and cellars for aging cognac. At the same time, he brought Camus to market leadership in Korea and Japan. In 2000, he launched the production of Borderies XO cognac based on millesimino cognac from the Borderi subregion.
In 2003, Cyril Camus became president of the company. He created a new generation of cognacs, including the Elegance, Masterpiece, Rarissima and Ile de Re collections.
