Lucas Bols was founded in 1575 by the Bols family, who arrived in Amsterdam. The company was originally called "Het Lootsje." It was the Golden Age for the Netherlands - Amsterdam quickly became a world trade center, spices and herbs were brought here from all over the world, which allowed Bols to use them to create their own unique liquors, which quickly gained popularity. At the end of the XVII century the management of the company passed to Lucas Bols, who made the Bols brand famous all over the world. Until 1816, secret recipes and company management were inherited from father to son until the company had to be sold. However, there was one condition - do not remove the name Bols from the name.

Today, Lucas Bols is an independent company exporting its products worldwide to more than one hundred countries. In the company's reserve there is a huge database of recipes for a variety of cocktails for every taste - of course, Bols liqueurs are their obligatory element. The International Institute for Research in Taste and Aroma confirmed the quality of Bols products. Independent experts who conducted a variety of tests put the Bols liquors far ahead of their direct competitors.
