Since October 2 - new minimum prices for alcohol 2018
We remind you that on September 5, 2018, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to increase the minimum price for alcohol. Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of September 5, 2018 No. 748 was published on September 22 in the "government courier" No. 178 (6294) and comes into force 10 days after publication, that is October 2, 2018.
The resolution, in particular, increased the size of the minimum wholesale and retail prices depending on the product code. Increased: for vodka and alcoholic beverages by 12.4-19.6%; whiskey, rum and gin at 12; cognac (brands) by 6.6-9.5%, wine by 4.5-13.5 percent.
Thus, the minimum retail price for a 0.5 liter vodka bottle with 40% alcohol content is increased from 79.55 hryvnia to 89.40, or by 12.4%. This is due to the fact that the minimum prices introduced in September 2017 did not correspond to the actual costs of business entities for the production and sale of alcoholic beverages, as: the excise tax rates increased, in particular, cognac - by 20%, the price of alcohol increased, other components prices.
